What’s 6061-T6?

T6 temper 6061 has been treated to provide the maximum precipitation hardening (and therefore maximum yield strength) for a 6061 Aluminum Alloy. 6061-T6. T6 temper 6061 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 42,000 psi (290 MPa) and yield strength of at least 35,00 psi (241 MPa). 6061 is highly weldable and the most common choice for extrusions and forging as well. This is the grade of Aluminum that we use. It is used for Aircraft as well as Marine applications. Further uses are Hydraulic Pistons and high quality Bike Frames. While other Companies are okay with using a base low grade Aluminum that both won’t last due to corrosion and will bend or buckle at the slightest amount of pressure, we use very high quality Aluminum and proud to show off the materials that we use.

What’s AAMA 2604?
The AAMA 2604 specification requires color loss of no greater than 5 hunter units after 5 years of harsh Florida sunlight exposure and a minimum of 30% gloss retention. The dry film measures at a very least of 1.2 mil and must not erode more than 10% over 5 years. During testing they expose the material to a continuous salt fog and 100% humidity for 3,000 hours The AAMA 2604 rating is perfectly suited for regularly trafficked areas for Residential and Commercial applications. While the Certification is for 5 years under harsh conditions, most see much more life out of their Fencing
